SGH – CAIRO HOSTS THE FIRST ER CONFERENCE IN EGYPT

A significant number of Egyptian and international experts participated in the first annual ER conference held at Saudi German Hospital in Cairo entitled “Updates and Communication in Emergency”, capitalizing on the importance of the collaboration between the governmental, private and the media sectors to create awareness about the importance of this Science, its development, providing employees with its latest techniques and empowering them with all the updates, Sets itself as a priority in the conference recommendations.

The conference discussed the methods of experience-sharing and the ways of communication between institutions, to ensure ER’s goal to save emergency cases in the least possible time because every second matters when it comes to saving lives, the conference was hosted by Saudi German Hospital – Cairo with the presence of Egyptian and international ER experts, and health care providers including governmental and private Entities.

The conference was attended by Dr. Samy Shehata, ER consultant in Dallas -Texas and in Prince Sultan Military Medical City, Dr. Khaled Zaghloul, the spinal cord surgery consultant in Colorado university, Dr. Hussien Sabry, the head of Egyptian fellowship for ER, Dr.Gamal Abbas, the president of the Egyptian Resuscitation Council, Dr. Hany Morro, the head of ER department in Dar Al Fouad hospital and SGH emergency team: Dr. Sherif Al Fayomi the head of emergency department and Dr.Atef Nasr the ER consultant and Dr. Mohamed Moustafa the Neurology consultant and Dr.Hatem Sabry Neurological surgery consultant.

Dr. Mohamed Hablas, the CEO of SGH in Cairo said that the event presents itself as a launch of our Corporate social responsibility strategy which includes holding a number of awareness seminars discussing different subjects in the medical sector in Egypt, not only for doctors or patients or pharmacists but to all Egyptians, and also contributes in providing a distinguished service for patients.

Dr. Mohamed Hablas has paid his tributes to the role of the Egyptian Ambulance Organization as becoming an important communication channel for saving patient’s lives, he also shared the main goal of the conference which is achieving the utmost communication levels between health care providers to enhance the quality of the health care service.

Dr.Mohamed Hablas also points that accidents take places in different places some of it lack the presence of special equipment necessary for saving lives, but the real-time communication between health organizations help in saving lives.

Saudi German Hospital – Cairo CEO also confirmed that the work strategy of the Group is to save patient’s lives disregarding the former prime minister’s decision to treat the emergency cases within 48 hours free of charge.

Dr. Atef Nasr, Emergency Medicine consultant and a member of the Scientific Council of the Egyptian emergency medicine Fellowship, praised the relentless efforts exerted by the Saudi German hospital to organize this conference in Cairo to be strong starting point for the hospital’s work in Egypt. and he capitalized on the importance of finding a suitable specialized system for Emergency, which can be chosen from one of the systems applied all over the world to benefit from the international experience, and this would be more convenient than wasting time, effort & money to work on establishing new systems.

He added that the ER is the basis for all those who work in the medical service sector, therefore, raising the level of the ER will raise the level of health in Egypt, The conference today aims at improving the ER and exchanging information in the modern science of ER and specially for the fresh graduate doctors through informing them of the latest treatment methods. Pointing that one of the problems we are facing in Egypt is the documentation which was overcame by SGH through a system of monitoring the cases and documenting them which contributes to saving the patients’ lives.

Dr. Hany Moro, ER Chief (Dar Al Fouad Hospital), expressed his delight with the conference, and said: This is an Honorable event with respectable organization for such a huge conference, targeting a very important sector. I hope this could be an annual conference. Assuring that such conferences which are concerned in the ER, play an important role in serving this field, exchanging information, and reviewing the updates happening worldwide.
