5 billion Dollars are Al-Batterjee Group’s investments in Egypt
During her visit to the Saudi-German Hospital in Cairo, Dr. Sahar Nasr – Minister of Investment and International Cooperation met Dr. Makarem Al-Batterjee – Vice President of Al-Batterjee Group, who gave a presentation to highlight the group’s investments in Egypt that was estimated by 5 billion dollars as a first phase.
Moreover, Al-Batterjee through his discussion with the minister, highlighted that the group is currently establishing a medical city in Alexandria, including 8 hospitals with total investments of 10 billion pounds, pointing out that this is the largest investment of the group in Africa. He also highlighted that the group aims to establish 12 hospitals in Egypt, covering all governorates, besides complying with the group’s plan to establish non-profit hospitals in the framework of its social role.
From her side, the minister expressed her happiness to visit the hospital and praised Saudi investments in Egypt, while encouraging Al-Batterjee Group to establish non-profit hospitals in the neediest areas in Upper Egypt, assuring that the government pays great attention to investing in people’s living standards through development of education and health sectors.
Furthermore, Nasr explained that the ministry is currently working on the executive regulation of the investment law aligned with its discussion with the House of Representatives. She also pointed out that the most important goal of the investment law is to create the appropriate investment atmosphere. Highlighting the ministry’ efficiency to create this atmosphere through restructuring the service complexes, eliminating the bureaucracy, and enhancing the technological linkage with the various ministries to speed up procedures for investors.
